I grew up learning to sew clothes from my mother and my Aunt. At some point I even made a simple quilt by sewing squares of fabric scraps together and using an old blanket for a backing. It was useful but a little lacking in esthetics. Eventually I found myself living in The Netherlands with my husband and two children. There I became reacquainted with quilting from a neighbor from France. We made plans for her to teach me. Before I could start, we moved to Sweden. There I joined the American Women’s Club and met a woman from Switzerland who had lived in the US and learned to quilt. She started a ‘Learn to Quilt’ group. That was all it took to send me on a journey that has become almost all consuming. Thanks to the support of my biggest fan, my husband, I’ve had 20-plus years of quilting fun!
